Contribute to the PHCF research programme.
The framework should earn its place through evidence. Researchers, clinicians and methodologists are invited to test its structure, boundaries, reliability, validity and usefulness.
Research that could change the framework is especially valuable.
Construct structure
Do Current Positive Health State, Positive Health Capacities, Demonstrated Adaptation and Protective Resource Ecology form empirically distinguishable components?
Inter-rater reliability
Can trained raters apply PHCF classifications consistently from the same clinical material?
Incremental validity
Does PHCF add useful information beyond diagnosis, symptoms, risk, functioning, quality of life and established positive-mental-health measures?
Prediction and change
Do PHCF classifications predict recovery trajectories, relapse, engagement, functioning or treatment outcomes, and do they change when people change?
Cultural validity
Where do PHCF constructs travel well across cultures, and where do assumptions about positive health require revision?
Clinical utility
Does using PHCF improve formulation, treatment planning, communication or the identification of resources without adding unhelpful burden?
Negative findings belong here too.
A credible classification programme must publish null findings, boundary failures and evidence that a proposed component should be modified or removed.
